WOP: "How do you get inspired to write?"
JACK TEMPCHIN: "Part of my technique that Glenn Frey and I developed has always involved writing with an inner voice called El Blurto. You pick up the guitar, start playing, and just start singing anything that comes out. This has been my way for years. I play, find some cool chord, play for a while, then just start singing. Whatever comes out, I record. Then when I go back and listen, I type out every word. I do no editing. as I type. Next, I'll look at the lyrics and cross things out, rearrange, then sing that new set of lyrics. I just keep doing that until the song gets close to being done. Then when it's almost done, I take the lines and really start to tweak them."

THE MAN WHO WROTE THE PEACEFUL, EASY SONG EVERYONE REMEMBERS
"How many songs from the last 50 years are there that the general, baby boomer public can recognize just by name and even sing a bar or two with the words? Surprisingly, I've found, not many. Then, there's Peaceful, Easy Feeling. The mention of the title inevitably brings a look of pleasant recognition on the faces of many people. The song, like any great American pop song, crosses cultural, social, generational and even international boundaries..." (Thanks to Terry Roland for this excellent interview feature!)

And many of his fans have their own story to tell him about where they were, what they were doing, or who they remember when they hear the song. Here's your chance to share and see the original lyrics ! Thanks.
