THE
BIG QUESTION
YOU CAN LEARN SO MUCH ABOUT YOURSELF FROM
ONE TINY DETAIL OF YOUR BEHAVIOR, LIKE HOW YOU ANSWER THE BIG QUESTION.
THE BIG QUESTION
IS ALWAYS CHANGING - THIS WEEK:
You wake up in the
morning. Its a beautiful day. You're making breakfast and the toast
gets stuck in the toaster. It starts to burn so you unplug the toaster
and spend twenty minutes picking crumbs out of the bottom. This makes
you late for work and you miss an important phone call. As a result
the carefully constructed financial empire you have worked on for years
collapses like a house of cards. The BIG question is:
WHOSE FAULT IS
IT?
-
THE TOASTER
FOR BEING TOO SMALL
-
THE BREAD
FOR BEING TOO BIG
-
YOUR FAULT,
BECAUSE YOU ARE REALLY A WORTHLESS NOTHING WHO JUST FOOLS THE
WORLD INTO THINKING YOU ARE OK
-
YOUR WIFE'S
FAULT FOR BUYING A BRAND OF BREAD THATS TO BIG TO FIT INTO THE
TOASTER
-
YOUR MOTHER'S
FAULT FOR BUYING YOU A TOASTER THAT CAN'T HANDLE LARGE BREAD
-
THE MAN WHO
DESIGNED THE TOASTER, JUST TO SAVE A FEW BUCKS HE MADE IT TOO
SMALL TO HANDLE LARGE BREAD WHICH RUINED YOUR ENTIRE LIFE.
-
THE SUPREME
BEING'S FAULT, BECAUSE HE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR EVERYTHING
-
NO ONES FAULT
IN THIS BEST OF ALL POSSIBLE WORLDS. ALL THINGS ARE BALANCED ON
A HIGHER ENERGY PLANE THAN OURS INTO A PERFECT HARMONY OF ONENESS
OF WHICH WE ARE A DELIGHTED PART NO MATTER HOW MISERABLE WE SEEM
TO BE AT THE MOMENT, SEEING THINGS AS WE DO THROUGH A VEIL OF
ILLUSION.
REMEMBER, BEFORE
OUR CIVILIZATION CAN ADVANCE TO A HIGHER LEVEL WE ALL MUST ANSWER:
THE BIG QUESTION
AND NOW...
PHILOSOPHY
OF THE WEEK
It's hard to have
a philosophy these days. The times are changing so rapidly and we
ourselves are changing everyday. What was a perfect philosophy last
week is no good today, much like computer software that's obsolete
by the time you get it home. The world changes out from under our
great ideas and we are always being dumped into a new game with new
rules. Still one must try to pull it all together with a few simple
rules that will always hold true, always make sense, and always make
us think we know what we are doing, no matter how wrong we may actually
be. So here is a perfectly good philosophy for this week.
In life only
two things are important:
-
SHOWING
UP
-
FEELING
GOOD
Showing Up - All
through school all you did was show up. Now you can read and write
and vote and fill out forms and wait in line and make change and identify
animals and cross the street and millions of other things you learned.
Just because you showed up.
Every morning
we show up. Scientist know that when we sleep every one of us is a
genius like Einstein. When we cross the border and wake up however
we all become really dumb. This is a sacrifice we gladly make to exist
on this level and enjoy physical pleasure, which is the gateway to
a paradise that seems to have no other door.
Wherever you show
up is where you are, and who you are is where you've been. Your whole
history is mostly just a list of the places where you've showed up.
SO MAKE UP YOUR
MIND WHERE YOU WANT BE AND THEN REMEMBER...ALWAYS
SHOW UP!
FEEL GOOD!
AND BE GREAT!
