GETTING READY FOR THE DIGITAL DECADE
WHAT YOU WON'T HAVE TO KNOW!

HOW TO BE THE PERFECT PERSON FOR THE 90'S

Do you hate computers? Are you paralyzed with fear at the thought that while you are living your normal life computers are creeping into everything and soon you will be unable to cope, surrounded by machines that only kids understand? Are you preparing a mad rush to learn the new technology so you won't be left behind? Well the good news is you can JUST FORGET IT!

Sure you will want to prepare for the 90's, but you can forget climbing the mountain of computer knowledge because that mountain is getting smaller everyday and by the time we get through the 90's our whole computer universe will be as simple as TURNING ON YOUR TV AND WATCHING CHANNEL SIX. Here are some thoughts on getting ready for the 90's.

THINGS YOU WON'T NEED TO LEARN

It's already clear that the main thing you don't have to learn about is computers. By the time you read the manual that came with your new computer, the computer is obsolete. This is a fact. So you can just wait for computers to catch up to you. But what about other things you wanted to learn to be a better person?

Did you want to improve your life by learning to speak French and Spanish? Were you going to learn some skills, like typing, book keeping, accounting, or playing a musical instrument? Feeling inadequate because you don't know how to do these things now? Well you can JUST FORGET IT!

By 2010 pocket translators with earphones will eliminate your need to know foreign languages. That saves you five years of hard work right there.

The technology for computers to hear the spoken work and understand it is well on its way. You will just talk and the machine will type out everything you say. So forget learning to type.

Bookkeeping and accounting are already computerized with menu driven programs. That saves you four years of business school right there.

Like to play music? It's great to strum a guitar to relax but did you know that almost every album you hear today has computers playing at least a few of the instruments? In a few years computers will even be writing the songs. That's a few more years you can spend doing something else.

To sum up: you don't need to learn languages, accounting, music, or anything about computers. And these are just A FEW EXAMPLES of the many things you won't have to learn. So what's left for you to do in the DIGITAL DECADE?

YOU MUST CONCENTRATE ON DOING THE THINGS COMPUTERS CANNOT DO!

WHAT COMPUTERS CANNOT DO.

(THINGS FOR YOU TO PRACTICE!)

1. FEELING GOOD The main thing a computer cannot do is feel good. They don't know how to dig life! On the open market being able to enjoy life has an incredibly high value. Like the old blues song says, "Feeling good, feeling good, all the money in the world is spent on feeling good." So practicing the many ancient and modern arts of feeling good should be your number one priority.

2. MAKING DECISIONS A computer cannot make decisions. Learning to live in the DIGITAL DECADE will be a lot like learning to live in hotels and eat in restaurants. The computers will cook and serve you a variety of services and experiences, your responsibility will be deciding what you want. Start practicing now.

3. BEING ENTERTAINED There is already a tremendous need for people to consume enjoyable experiences. The huge entertainment industry, which includes MOVIES, MUSIC, ART, SPORTS, RESTAURANTS, TRAVEL, TV, and POLITICS will become even bigger and need more CONSUMERS. That's where you come in! START PRACTICING NOW!

4. SEX Lets face it, this is a very important area. Sure to be in more and more demand in the world of the future. Perhaps you should begin NOW by scheduling in a lot more practice hours.

The world of the future will be a leisure world and you better start getting ready now!

Remember, just about anything you can think of to learn or do to make yourself or the world better, no matter what it is, will soon be done better than you by a machine. The only things people will be needed for will be sex and tickling small children, and they will probably even develop machines for these but that will take a few years longer. So, to get ready, imagine that you have just won fifty million bucks in the lottery. Your only job now will be thinking up ways to keep yourself happy and satisfied. It won't be easy! Why do you think successful celebrities always wreak their lives by turning to drugs and wild parties? Because they haven't prepared for "The Challenge of Having Everything You Want" Only a few have ever been able to pull it off. Unfortunately, it's something that's right around the bend for all of us, so it would be wise to...
