SNAP OUT OF IT!
IT'S TIME TO MAKE UP YOUR MIND!!!
ACCEPT THE SLOB YOU ARE OR BECOME THE SLOB YOU WANT TO BE.

Procrastination and Fear

There REALLY IS a simple solution to the problem of procrastination and fear of life in general. Many self help books and expensive therapies present this solution. I will state it here in FOUR words.

SNAP OUT OF IT!

That's right. All you have to do is just totally change your world view and your behavior. Don't try to back into it gently, just do it all at once! How are you ever going to learn to swim if you don't jump into deep water? If you want to learn to swim really well wouldn't it be better to jump into a freezing ocean in a raging storm? Well why monkey around? You'll find out right away if you can do it!

Are you tired of the way you put things off? Are you disgusted with the way you sit down in front of the TV at the end of a hard day and sip a cold beer or light a cigar instead of getting down to business? Wouldn't you rather be sweating in a tiny office, making plans and doing work that will get you ahead? Wouldn't you rather be reading a challenging book that might change your life instead of sitting there without a care in the world laughing at something moron on TV and feeling great?

Life Is Short

You know that you only have so much time to get as far as you are going to get in this world. Being a slim and powerful millionaire, humanitarian, respected genius and caretaker of an extended family is a lot of work and if you don't start now when will you start? Do you want to go through life "Outside of History" as billions have since time began, just eating and drinking and experiencing all the beauty and pleasure that life has to offer day by day? Wouldn't you rather be one of the handful, one of the few that discipline themselves to achieve more and thus leave the world something to remember them by?

It's just a question of sitting down and thinking about what's really important. Do you want to continue to be the same old unsatisfactory you, living it up whenever possible and doing just what is necessary to be safe and secure and loved and using up the rest of your time laughing with your friends? Or do you want to be someone else, someone on a solitary mission to change yourself and the world.

So it's up to you. Either decide that its ok to be just another slob like so many billions have before you since time began, or...

SNAP OUT OF IT!

And now, let's think about Nematodes

There's a reason for everything. Did you ever notice how often you accidentally run into the very piece of information you need? Knowledge is only useful to you at the moment you become able to understand it. Till then it may be right in front of your face but you will never see it. Who knows why you are reading this colomn? Perhaps its because the universe wants you to know more about the tiny organisms called Nematodes. It's a well known fact that the smallest thing you do can change the history of the human race forever. So read on!
From the Natural Sciences classic "The Living Earth" by Peter Farb:

"Many thousands of kinds of nematodes are known, and they occur everywhere. They have been found in boiling waters of hot springs as well as in polar seas. They abound deep in the ocean and in the most arid deserts; they are found in all soils. As parasites of birds and fish they fly over continents and span the seas. There is a particular species that lives in man's vermiform appendix, and nowhere else."

"If all the matter in the universe except the nematodes were swept away, our world would still be dimly recognizable, and if, as disembodied spirits, we could then investigate it, we should find its mountains, hills, vales, rivers, lakes and oceans represented by a film of nematodes. The location of towns would be decipherable, since for every massing of human beings there would be a corresponding massing of certain nematodes. Trees would still stand in ghostly rows representing our streets and highways."

Congratulations! You now know more about Nematodes. See you next time!
